Billy’s Steak & Onion Sauté

A favorite meal at our house that I have tried to replicate, but my husband is the best at making this meal. In fact, when the kids are asked what they want for their birthday dinner, this is usually it!

The secret ingredient is the salad dressing used. We love the Meijer brand Italian dressing. If you don’t have a Meijer near you, just select an Italian dressing that you like.

Slice up several steaks and trim off the fat. Slice it thin, less than a ¼ inch is best. This way when you saute the steak, the salad dressing caramelizes and the edges of the meat are crispy and sweet.

Slice up onions and peppers; the sweeter the better.

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan. Add the onions, peppers and meat, Saute on a med-high heat, stirring every few minutes until cooked through. Cook it a little longer until the salad dressing is mostly cooked down. Serve with a salad, on top of zucchini noodles or roasted cauliflower. Goes well with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.
